We had a dinner with the cousins. Marty, John, Pauline, Twinky, Ina and Errol. Dino, Jenny, Trisha and Joanne didn't go for one reason or another. Since I wanted to eat Filipino food, Ina directed us to this restaurant as it was walking distance from Marty's flat.
pancit molo soup
Not bad. Lots of noodles but not enough toasted garlic.
crispy adobong pork ribs
Modern take on adobo. The large thing is fried pork which makes this "crispy". The sauce was vinegary intense but not so much as to have been rendered inedible.
pork binagoonang
Another modern interpretation. Usually the pork is long simmered with bagoong. In this case, the pork was fried crisp like lechon kawali with the bagoong made a s a sauce that was poured on top.
crispy tamarind fish
The fish is filleted, the chunks fried, piled on top of the carcass and served with the sweet tamarind sauce on the side to drizzle on top. This is one of their signature dishes.
asohos with crab fat sauce
Asohos is a type of white fleshed fish. Here it is fried and served with a side of pasta and the crab fat sauce which is rich and garlicky.
guinataang gulay
This was good. Would order this again (and I did).
