Pat pat's kansi

After our demo at FEU, where we ate in Chinatown, we got back to the office kind of late. We had a debrief and then since it was past 8, we went off for dinner.

This time, I wanted to go to this restaurant I had read about called Patpat's. They specialize in a type of bulalo (beef shoulder soup) from Iloilo. The really crazy thing about this restaurant: they had NO vegetables on the menu!! Basically just meat, fish, rice. And sodas.

The kansi was sour like sinagang. It was okay but nothing particularly special at all.

kansi bulalo and kansi laman

In the above picture there are 2 orders here: kansi bulalo (the one with the big bone) and kansi laman (the bowl in the upper part of the picture). The kansi bulalo was just soup and that big bone. There was marrow inside the bone and a few bits of tendon and connective tissue clinging to the bone, but that was it. The kansi laman had some soup and perhaps 4 or so slices of meat that were formerly attached to that big old bone. Can't really say it was good value for the money.

inihaw na baboy

this is another sad little portion.

We also ordered the sisig but for some reason my picture of that didn't quite turn out. Just as well because that was the first time in my life I have seen sisig floating in oil. yikes.
