I think the day before La Tienda, I was running some errands with Lola and we needed to eat something. Japanese seemed like the way to go.
hamachi maki
This was not made by Lola's sushi suki (as in the Tagalog word, not the Japanese word). He didn't really know what to do, so the maki fell apart.
hiyashi somen
Meh. Nice-ish presentation but the tsuyu was mediocre and they cut the noodle and arranged it artfully.
