odd McDo chicken sandwich thing

Here is an action shot of a strange McDonald's sandwich thing. The chicken had a nice and slightly spicy fried crust. The "meat" was sort of spongy like a fish cake and chewy in an unnatural way. Give this one a wide berth in the future.


office pandesal frenzy

This is a shot of people getting their pandesal on. Every friday morning, the office has a pandesal party. There are usually a couple to 3 fillings the people can put into their pandesals. These may be corned beef, or peanut butter or coco jam. Changes every week. Lately we have been getting pandesal from "Pandesal since 1950's" which purports to make their pandesal the way they were made in the 50's. Not quite according to those alive in Manila during this time, but definitely it is better than most pandesal bakeries that's for sure.

De Cartier it says. Very odd. In fact, Jenny couldn't bear hers and immediately gave it away to Roger, the driver. Mine wasn't so enjoyable either so I too gave it away.

The eggs were poached but they are really orangey, which makes it all good. Sauce was added right after I put the cell phone down.

April birthday celebrants

On the last Saturday of every month, we have a birthday cake for the month's birthday celebrants. Here is April 2010. I don't know most of these people, even when I pass them in the hall and they say their obligatory, "Hi, sir". I do know the little person in the front though. And by the way, it wasn't his birthday month.


McDo green apple float

This was absolutely wretched. It was sprite with a few squirts of green apple something syrup and then a scoop of McDonald's soft serve ice cream. Easily one of the worst drinks I have every consumed in a fast food restaurant. The ice cream was the usual McDo affair so it wasn't half bad. The liquid was intensely sweet without any sourness from something that should be green apple. I think I would eat a bagful of the weird chicken sandwiches over half of this.

Here is a defaced campaign poster. It shows the presidential candidate, Gibo Teodoro. This was the candidate for most of the "educated" upwardly mobile young people. He ended up with like 10% of the vote. Everybody says he's still young and he can give it a try again next time.
